Good News, Phoenix Listeners- QM Will Be On KYOT

by Quietmusic on Jan.29, 2009, under Announcements

Wow. What a difference a week makes. On Monday Morning, KYOT called me with an offer to keep Quietmusic on the air there. They came up with some funds to keep the show going for 13 more weeks. (And once their 2009 budgets are squared away, the show will continue until further notice). So tune into the Coyote this Sunday. I’ll be there. If you’re outside Phoenix and want to listen online, the show airs from 7-10am (MST). Thanks again for your support.

    Hi Nick:

Great news about continuing the show on KYOT. I'm amazed that someone over there had the brains to do that!

    Hey Nick,
That's Great News! I work on Sundays though, so I won't be able to hear it. But I hope the Podcasts will still be here. By the way, when's the next one? I can't wait! :)

Dave – The next podcast will either be posted Friday Morning or Saturday morning. By the way, I mailed out your drive this afternoon.

Thank You Very Much!!! How many shows can you fit on the drive…just out of curiosity. I'll also give a listen in tomorrow night on KPLU.

Congratulations Nick! Sounds like somebody somewhere has some brains! Hmm, wondering if I can listen to the show on the net? Thanks for the email the other day! All the best!

    Nick,
Outstanding! I'm in Tucson but I can pick up the KYOT signal well enough to give the show a listen.
Good on the folks that kept you on board. Looking forward to hearing you Sunday.

WOW! I'm thrilled silly to have my Quietmusic! Thanks to the folks @ KYOT for their forsight. Sundays just wouldn't be the same without Nick and QM. Congratulations! We're all better for having a quiet, contemplative time.

I'm writing from Florida and was VERY DISAPPOINTED when I tuned in on Sunday, Feb. 1st and there was NO QM SHOW! What can Florida do to have it aired again here….I'm using someone's computer to send this email and cannot listen online unless I borrow someone's computer! A disappointed Fan, Barbara Joyner, Ft. Myers, Florida

  • NickFrancis

Sorry Barbara. The syndicated show is done. Your local station will have to contact me and pay me cash to run the show. You have to understand that commercial stations don't pay for syndicated
programming, they get it for free in exchange for giving up X minutes of
commercial time per hour, so that the syndicator can sell that time nationally.
The syndicator then bundles all of its shows and sells it to national
agencies. It's a real scuzzy business. I didn't have enough affiliates to make any money (for me or them.).

Nick Francis, the Great! I'm glad I'll still get to hear the program!
I'm one of your greatest fans in the Fort Lauderdale, FL area. I was heart-broken when, after 8 years of airing the show, the local Smooth Jazz ILOV94 (93.9) station discontinued QUIET MUSIC, several months before they themselves folded. Even when outside of the US (for most of 2005-2007), I would follow the weekly playlists, and wrote a message to 93.9 complaining for no longer covering you a few months. They responded non-affirmatively.
I thank you for introducing me to the music of Patrick O'Hearn (I first heard him in the SF Bay Area, via KKSF, thanks to…YOU). I consider tMr. O'Hearn the greatest instrumental musician of our time, and have all 20 of his albums (19 of which are mentioned on his website). Thank you as well for regularly playing other very talented artists (Yanni, Enya, David Arkenstone, Clannad, Aine Minogue, Kazu & Keiko Matsui, Vangelis, Andreas Vollenweider, Lovland/Secret Garden, Erik Wollo, David Helpling, etc…), and beautiful vocals such as Sade, Sting, Norah Jones and the late Eva Cassidy. I have built much of my music collection and listening around your playlists. This is really great. Don't go away!

Quiet time on Sundays is my favorite radio program and I rarely miss it. Here's to the show being around for many more years. John
