QM Podcast 5/17 – Northern Exposure

Some Celtic and Scandinavian-like sounds for today’s mix. You’ll hear Norway’s Kings of Convenience getting very “Simon & Garfunkel: on us; Lyle Mays’ journey into the highlands, Nickel Creek going Celtic, more great piano from Norway’s Tord Gustavsen, and a very Bjork-like plea from fellow Icelander Emiliana Torrini.

    Nick,
Thanks for the beautiful music every Sunday morning. I really enjoyed your comment on the "Inconvient Truth" movie as an outdoor movie. HeHe. Keep up the good work.

    Nick,

Hope your getting settled in to the new digs.

There are a few of us anxiously waiting for new podcasts. Just letting you know there's an dedicated audience out there.
  • David_Lancaster
Hey Nick, any new podcasts coming up soon?
  • Billy Black
I listened to QM every Sunday morning when it was broadcasting in Atlanta. The cast of composers and artists never ceased to amaze my ears, ease my mind, and brighten my day. To Nick Francis, the compiler, I enjoyed your show then, and now I am thankful for this opportunity to enjoy it online. I'm currently serving in Iraq, and the podcast certainly makes my deployment that much easier with the click of a button just as if I was listening to it in my car back home. Again, I thank you.

    Nick,
Congratulations on the new house! You've got a great "double-fresh" start! May be a sign of good things to come! :)

    Nick,
Just saw your facebook comment about 8,000 CD's! WOW!!! How many cassette tapes and vinyl do you have? What a collection!
  • Actually the 8,000 discs are for KPLU. My own personal CD collection's at about 2K. And those are packed too because I'm moving into a new house. (New home and a new work facility at the same time.) I'll be back to regular podcasting in a week or so.

Now THAT'S a big move!!! Be careful, and speaking from a little experience...watch the back when lifting!

    Halleluiah!

I was wondering when the next podcast was coming. Looking forward to the next one.

    Hi Nick,

I hope you're O.K. I'm suffering from QuietMusic withdrawels...thank god the KYOT was a webcast Sunday mornings. I, too, discovered you on Live365.com and was instantly hooked.

    Sincerely,

    Todd

    Hi Nick,

Keep those podcasts coming! They are great to listen to at work or even after work, when I am winding down.

    All the best

    Hey Nick,

Continuing to enjoy quiet music. I used to listen to your show on Live365 back in the early 2000s whilst at work (I write software) here in London, UK. Therefore I was v happy to find the show again here recently! Hoping there'll be a new show soon.

All the best and many thanks for the music.
