Quietmusic on Mixcloud

There’s a new website from the UK that’s been getting attention in the tech world these days—it’s Mixcloud, a site that gathers and aggregates radio programs and music mixes. It’s kind of like a radio version of YouTube. Right now the site is dominated by electronic musicians and DJs from Britain, but I’m sure the rest of us will fill in the gaps in the future. The interface is quite simple and the site is very easy to navigate. It’s not a downloading site (just streaming) and the site’s owners are taking care of music licenses and royalty issues, which is something I appreciate.

Another cool thing is the ability to create a widget for each “cloudcast” (their term). I can put a widget on this site, and you can put the same widget on yours, though they don’t have one for Facebook yet.
